In today's world, there is a growing interest in studying business models aimed at the closed-loop functioning of the economy. Although previous models of sustainable development did not impress the market, the reaction to the new concept is different. The main reason is that the advantages of past industrial systems have now become a threat to modern companies. Thus, the cyclical transition is beneficial not only environmentally but also financially. The closure of material and energy flows leads to lower costs and allows companies to offer new opportunities to customers. These dynamics create favorable conditions for the development of the biotechnology sector, where the closed-loop concept is of particular importance due to the possibility of optimizing production and creating new products with due regard to environmental sustainability
